2. The Forum has reiterated its determination to support the ongoing political process towards a just and lasting solution that the leaders of the two Cypriot communities courageously re-started.

Forum, iki Kıbrıs halkının liderlerinin cesurca tekrar başlattığı adada adil ve sürdürülebilir bir çözüme ulaşma sürecini desteklediğini bir kere daha beyan etmiştir.

3. No matter how the political process unfolds, the Forum has decided to pursue its primary aim of enhancing trust and confidence building between the two communities on the island.

Siyasi süreç nasıl ilerlerse ilerlesin, Forumumuz adadaki iki halk arasındaki güven ortamını güçlendirme hedefine doğru yürümeye devam edecektir

4. In its second meeting, the Forum members put forth a proposed list of possible projects to transform the Buffer Zone between the two communities from a zone of division to one of unity.

İkinci toplantılarında, Forum üyeleri iki halk arasındaki tampon bölgeyi bir ayrıştırma bölgesi olmaktan çıkartıp, birlik bölgesi haline getirmek amacıyla bir öneri listesi hazırlamıştır.

5. The Forum’s next step will be to establish a list of priorities from the ideas on this list, and produce concrete and actionable projects such as,

Forumun bir sonraki adımı bu listedeki maddelerin önceliklerini belirlemek ve somut, üzerinde çalışılabilir projeler geliştirmektir. Bunlardan bazıları şöyledir;

a. Establishing an Arbitration Center to resolve disputes between the businesspeople of the two communities. A study group of experts from all parties will convene within 30 days from today, and present a unanimously agreed upon draft to the Forum. The Forum will also look into the possibility of involving credible third parties in this effort.

İki halkın iş adamları arasındaki anlaşmazlıkları çözecek bir tahkim merkezi kurmak. Tarafların tahkim uzmanları 30 gün içerisinde Atina’da toplanıp, üzerinde anlaştıkları bir metni Forum’a sunacaklardır. Forum aynı zamanda bu merkez için güvenilir bir üçüncü taraf bulma ihtimalini de araştıracaktır.

b. Setting up an Incubation Center that would host and enable the growth of promising entrepreneurs from both communities. A study group of experts from all parties to meet in 30 days Brussels to design a road map.

İki halkın genç girişimcilerini barındırıp büyümelerini sağlamak amacıyla bir Kuluçka Merkezi kurmak. Tarafların atadığı yetkililer 30 gün içerisinde Brüksel’de bir araya gelip bir yol haritası hazırlayacaklar ve Forum’a sunacaklardır.

c. Organizing a Start-Up Weekend to bring together young entrepreneurs from both communities. This event will be organized by a study group consisting of one representative from each member of the Forum, and a proposal will be submitted to the Forum in 30 days.

Bir Start-up Weekend etkinliği düzenleyerek iki halktan genç girişimcileri bir araya getirmek. Bu etkinlik için taraflardan birer sorumlu temsilci atanmıştır; 30 gün içerisinde Forum’a somut bir takvim sunulacaktır.

d. Promote the establishment of a Joint Natural Disaster Management Body on the island. Whenever disasters such as fires, flooding and the like are encountered, both communities suffer hugely as a result of a lack of cooperation. To protect the safety of the two communities the Forum has decided to pioneer the formation of such a management authority.

Adada bir Ortak Doğal Afet Yönetim Birimi kurulması için çalışılacaktır. İşbirliği eksikliği dolayısıyla adada yangın, sel vb. doğal afetler ortaya çıktığında iki taraf da ciddi kayıplar vermektedir. Ada halklarının güvenliğini sağlamak amacıyla, Forum bir Afet Yönetim Birimi’nin kuruluşuna öncülük edecektir.

e. Prepare a feasibility study on the possibility of entrepreneurs from both communities to make joint investments.

İki toplumdan yatırımcıların ortak yatırım imkanları konusunda fizibilite çalışması hazırlanacaktır.

6. The Forum will hold its next meeting in Athens, in December.

Forum bir sonraki toplantısını Aralık ayında Atina’da yapacaktır.

7. We, the Forum participants, believe that these steps to enhance co-operation between our communities are a mere beginning. The prosperity and well-being of the entire region rests upon a comprehensive solution to the Cyprus problem. We also believe that the geographical area that covers Cyprus, Greece and Turkey deserve a better, common and prosperous future within the European Union.

Forum üyeleri olarak biz halklarımız arasındaki bağları güçlendirmek amacıyla atılan bu adımları sadece başlangıç olarak görüyoruz. Bölgemizin istikrarı ve refahı Kıbrıs sorununun kapsamlı bir sonuca ulaşmasına bağlıdır. Aynı zamanda Kıbrıs, Yunanistan ve Türkiye’nin bulunduğu coğrafyanın Avrupa Birliği bünyesinde daha parlak bir geleceğe sahip olmayı hakettiğine inanıyoruz.
